Connecting automation with recognised frameworks

GreenControls Thailand has launched a new Sustainable & Healthy Buildings resource for project owners, consultants, designers, contractors, facility teams and educators. It explains how building automation can support projects working toward recognised sustainability and wellbeing objectives under TREES, LEED, WELL, BCA Green Mark, EDGE and BREEAM.

The resource places particular emphasis on Thailand and the wider region. TREES provides a locally relevant green-building framework, while LEED and WELL are widely recognised approaches for environmental performance and occupant wellbeing. BCA Green Mark and EDGE add strong regional and emerging-market relevance, while BREEAM provides an established international reference.

From design intent to measurable performance

Sustainable and healthy building outcomes depend on more than individual products. They require coordinated control strategies, reliable measurements, careful commissioning and continued review of actual building operation.

GreenControls helps project teams connect systems and information so that performance can be observed, discussed and improved. Depending on project scope and design, the following technologies can contribute:

  • KNX automation can support zoning, scheduling, occupancy-based control and coordinated operating strategies.
  • DALI lighting can support daylight response, dimming, scene control and reduced lighting-energy use.
  • HVAC control can support scheduling, zoning, setpoint optimisation and thermal-comfort objectives.
  • Sensors can provide occupancy, temperature, humidity, CO₂ and other indoor-environment inputs where applicable.
  • Energy metering and monitoring can provide measurements, dashboards, trend analysis and data for performance verification.
  • NETx visualisation can provide central monitoring, analytics, alarms and clearer visibility of building performance.

Supporting project objectives responsibly

The contribution of each technology depends on the building, system design, controls sequence, commissioning plan, selected framework and evidence required by the project. Automation can help teams turn design objectives into operational strategies and measurable information for commissioning, optimisation and continuous improvement.

GreenControls does not provide LEED, WELL, TREES, Green Mark, EDGE or BREEAM certification. Our technologies can support project teams pursuing selected credits, features and performance objectives under recognised green-building frameworks.
