Thailand's Amonrit — known to many simply as "Mon" — has received a Medal for Excellence in Skill 18, Electrical Installations, at WorldSkills Shanghai 2026.
The competition concluded in Shanghai on 27 September 2026, gathering skilled young professionals from around the world. The Medal for Excellence recognises an outstanding result in one of the most demanding technical trades on the programme — a milestone that reflects genuine talent and many hours of disciplined training.
Precision under pressure
Electrical Installations asks competitors to plan, install, test and commission real electrical systems against tight time limits and strict professional quality standards. Behind every clean, correctly terminated connection is careful preparation: reading technical drawings, working safely, selecting the right materials, and verifying every result before the clock runs out.
Why modern electrical installations matter
The Electrical Installations skill has evolved well beyond wires and switches. Today's buildings bring together lighting, environmental monitoring, energy metering and building automation in one coordinated system, so young professionals are increasingly expected to understand not only safe installation practice, but also how low-voltage control systems connect the devices in a building.
Open standards such as KNX are an increasingly relevant part of that picture: they give emerging technicians transferable, manufacturer-independent engineering skills that carry across many products, projects and employers. GreenControls Thailand supports this direction through KNX education, because smart, energy-efficient buildings will be engineered by people trained this way.
Congratulations
GreenControls Thailand congratulates Amonrit on this achievement and on the example it sets for technical students across the country. Talent, preparation and opportunity came together at the highest level of the skills world.
